Brian McClair isn’t on board with a BBC commentator’s ‘best ever’ praise of Manchester City.
The former Manchester United striker and coach must have been watching the coverage of last night’s FA Cup tie between City and League One outfit Wigan when he heard the praise.
It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise as Pep Guardiola’s side have been getting similar praise on a regular basis this season.
But McClair obviously doesn’t agree – and after City lost 1-0 to Wigan in a shock defeat last night, it was the ideal time for the Scot to share his thoughts on it.
Upon hearing the commentator’s line that City are one of the best teams Britain has ever produced, McClair sarcastically asked his Twitter followers if the commentator was 13:
BBC commentator say Man City are one of the best teams “ever” seen in this land, is he 13 years old?

As you can see from the interaction numbers on the tweet, United fans agree with him – and they’re busy mentioning some of their best ever teams that would give City a run for their money.
Of course, McClair played in some brilliant United teams under Sir Alex Ferguson and was also a coach at the club when they were winning Champions League titles with some of Fergie’s best teams.
