Dutch Legend Clarence Seedorf Pays a Touching Tribute to Fernando Ricksen

Legendary Dutch midfielder Clarence Seedorf has paid a touching tribute to stricken Rangers idol Fernando Ricksen, and declared his admiration for his former international colleague.

As football fans will be all too aware, former Gers skipper Ricksen has been courageously battling against Motor Neuron Disease for several years now, with reports over the last few months suggesting his health has deteriorated significantly.

Ricksen, 41, played 12 times for the Netherlands during his playing career over a span of three years, and shared the same pitch as multiple Champions League winner Seedorf on many occasions.

And now the former Real Madrid, AC Milan and Ajax superstar is keen to let his fans know he’s thinking of his old pal, and has urged his thousands of followers on Instagram to visit the Fernando Ricksen Foundation:

It turns out he wasn’t only classy on the pitch, but off it as well.

Well said, Clarence. Well said indeed!
