Ed Woodward Says Alexis Sanchez Signing Set Record Shirt Sales and Social Media Interactions

Manchester United‘s chief executive Ed Woodward has confirmed the signing of Alexis Sanchez set a new record for January shirt sales, as well as social media interactions online.

Woodward helped secure the services of Sanchez from Arsenal last month, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan going in the other direction in a rare swap deal, and it seems the Red Devils are already seeing the fruit of their labour.

The 29-year-old Chilean superstar scored his first goal for United last weekend against Huddersfield and his arrival has already caused a stir away from the football pitch too.

In a conference call with investors, Woodward broke down the club’s finances and revealed a few details that United fans would enjoy reading:

United and Sanchez take on Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle United this weekend and we fully expect the attacker to be in action at St. James’s Park.

What do you make of Woodward’s revelations? Should they really matter to supporters?
