Kevin Thomson joked that Robbie Keane is still in his back pocket from the time they went head to head in a Rangers v Celtic game.
Thomson spent three years at Ibrox during his career, winning five major trophies and playing a part in the team that lost to Zenit in the UEFA Cup Final in 2008.
He was a quality player and showed that over 109 appearances for the club.
But Thomson seems to be remembered more for his tackle on Keane during a game against Celtic back in 2010.
The former midfielder – who is now an academy coach at the club – has already spoken about the tackle and Keane’s reaction to it in the game.
And now he’s joked about the Irishman still being in his back pocket after being asked by a fan during a Twitter Q&A:
Of course, Thomson’s response is just a joke, but it’s clear to see that fans still remember the tackle fondly.
He’s recently returned to Ibrox as an academy coach and it will be interesting to see if he can progress up the ranks at the club or elsewhere to forge a managerial career.
