Leigh Griffiths has shown his support for his Celtic teammates after their Europa League exit at the hands of Zenit.
The Hoops striker was back in Scotland watching on last night’s game as he recovers from a calf injury.
No doubt he would have been disappointed to see them fail to build on their 1-0 first leg win, going down 3-0 on the night and 3-1 on aggregate in their last-32 tie.
But Griffiths has offered some solidarity on Instagram by sharing a picture of the squad celebrating their Betfred Cup win earlier in the season alongside the caption: “My guys”
That’s the sort of solidarity that Hoops fans will be delighted to see in the wake of a disappointing result.
Despite only just exiting Europe and still being in every domestic competition, Rodgers’ men haven’t been exempt from criticism this season.
They’ve struggled to find their best form of late and the manner of last night’s defeat to Zenit has attracted more criticism.
But Celtic still have a potential treble on the cards and positivity among the players and the support should help them in going for their targets.
