Manchester United Fans Want to Break the Bank For Toby Alderweireld This Summer

Manchester United fans are getting rather excited about the prospect of signing Spurs defender Toby Alderweireld This Summer, with the Belgian reportedly a target for Jose Mourinho.

The 28-year-old has established himself as one of the Premier League’s calmest and most composed defenders over the past three or four seasons after playing a key role in transforming the Tottenham into Champions League regulars and genuine title challengers.

According to the Sun, Alderweireld is tired with earning around £40,000 per-week, and feels he could earn a lot more by moving to Old Trafford and hooking up with Jose Mourinho – and the Portuguese coach is apparently of the same opinion.

Whether it’s merely speculation or not, the reports have certainly got a lot of United fans excited at the prospect of having a top-class alternative to Chris Smalling and Phil Jones next season:

Do United have a serious chance of signing him? And would he really solve all of their defensive problems?
