Video: Barry Ferguson Recalls Falling into the Celtic Fans and Seeing His Father-in-Law

Ex-Rangers captain Barry Ferguson remembers falling toward the Celtic fans during an Old Firm derby… only to see his Hoops-supporting father-in-law giving him stick in the stands.

Ferguson, who won 15 major honours during his career in the Light Blue jersey, was speaking to BBC Sportsound when he unfurled the revelation about his wife’s father.

The former Clyde boss was reminiscing during a ‘My Life in Three Games’ segment, when he recalled being pushed toward the stands by a Celtic player.

Ferguson remembers being showered with abuse and various hand gestures… with his father-in-law seemingly leading the charge to put the midfielder off his game:

It’s not the first time Ferguson has spoken about his in-law’s loyalty to the green and white side of Glasgow, as he told the Daily Record in 2003 that you “couldn’t meet a bigger Celtic fan”.

To hear the rest of Ferguson’s interview, tune in to BBC Radio Scotland at 6.30pm tonight.
