McGregor has become a key player under Brendan Rodgers, following a tricky spell during Ronny Deila’s reign, and he was given the armband in the absence of Scott Brown for the Premiership clash with St. Johnstone.
The landmark moment in the 24-year-old’s career came just a few days after he’d scored a fantastic winning goal against Zenit in the Europa League, and in the latest episode of Celtic TV’s The Locker Room, McGregor seems keen to remember the people who’ve helped him develop along the way.
He loves Celtic too!

McGregor has also won praise from his manager, who claims he’d be given a lot more praise if he was Italian or Argentine, and the Scotland international looks set to continue his impressive run in this Thursday’s re-match against Zenit in Russia.
But there’s no doubt Celtic fans will absolutely love his nod to the late great Tommy Burns.
How highly do you now rate McGregor?
