Video: Neil Lennon Hails Hibs For ‘Performance of the Season’

Neil Lennon has hailed his Hibs player for producing their ‘performance of the season’ to beat Aberdeen.

The Hibees went into this afternoon’s game against the Dons hoping to get three points that would keep the pressure on their opponents and Rangers in the Scottish Premiership table.

Aberdeen, in second, held an eight-point lead over Hibs going into the game, while third-placed Rangers were five points in front of them.

But those gaps have been cut with the 2-0 victory for Hibs and that continues their challenge for second spot in the Premiership moving into the final months of the season.

Martin Boyle and Florian Kamberi got the goals on a disappointing day for Aberdeen – and Lennon was full of praise for his players afterwards:

Rangers play Hamilton tomorrow so still have a chance to regain their five-point lead with a win there.

And that will really put the pressure on Aberdeen, who will be joint-second with the Ibrox side on 52 points.
