The Swansea striker has been in and around the club’s first team for the last couple of seasons, but has yet to nail down a regular place in their team.
He made 12 appearances in the first half of the season for the Swans, failing to score a goal.
But McBurnie – who is a Scotland Under 21 international – has had no issues since signing for Barnsley in January on a loan deal until the end of the season.
He’s played five games now and hit four goals, including a double away at Birmingham and an equaliser in a draw with Sheffield Wednesday.
McBurnie played his fifth game last night and came up with another big goal as Barnsley got a 1-1 draw away at Hull.

Swansea should be keen on him in the summer if he continues to score goals like this at Barnsley – and that can only increase his chances of getting a top team call-up for Scotland.
McLeish will name his first squad next month ahead of his first game against Costa Rica at Hampden before then playing Hungary in Budapest days later.
