Manchester United held on for a 0-0 draw with Sevilla in the Champions League last night… thanks to a heroic performance from David De Gea.
And Rio Ferdinand absolutely loved it.
While the Spain international proved he’s one of the best keepers in the world with stops against Joaquin Correa and Steven N’Zonzi… it was his save to deny Luis Muriel’s goal-bound header that really stood out.
BT Sport have since confirmed that De Gea had just 0.24 seconds to react to the Colmbian’s attempt on goal, offering just enough time for Ferdinand to go absolutely bonkers.
Yes, there was no hiding where the former United defender’s allegiance lies after this celebration:

There’s no doubting that De Gea kept United alive in Seville, with Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez and Juan Mata struggling to make an impact against the La Liga giants.
However, if Jose Mourinho’s side are to secure a spot in the quarter-finals, they will need their forward line to perform as admirably as De Gea did on Wednesday night.
