Video: Roy Keane Describes Liverpool and Tottenham Trophy Records as ‘Embarrassing’

Roy Keane has described Liverpool and Tottenham‘s trophy records as ’embarrassing’.

The Manchester United legend took his usual place on ITV’s Champions League highlights show last night as they looked back on this week’s last-16 action.

Tottenham’s 2-2 draw away at Juventus was included in the show, as well as Liverpool’s emphatic 5-0 victory over Porto last night.

And while they were impressive results, Keane couldn’t help himself criticising the clubs for their lack of trophies over recent years.

The Irish assistant manager described it as ’embarrassing’ and highlighted how the aspirations of clubs have changed since his time playing:

For Liverpool fans, Keane’s criticism probably won’t make much of a dent given he’s a United legend and never really speaks positively about the Anfield club.

But Tottenham supporters will no doubt be angered by his comments, particularly after such a big result for them away in Italy.

Do you agree with Keane’s assessment? Is it embarrassing that Liverpool haven’t won a trophy since lifting the League Cup in 2012? And is it embarrassing that Tottenham have only one major trophy win this century?
