Video: Xavi Rolls Back the Years With Assist For Al Sadd

Xavi rolled back the years last night with a brilliant assist for Al Sadd in their 2-0 win over Al Rayyan.

The Barcelona legend is now turning out in Qatar with Al Sadd, joining them in 2015 after bringing an end to his illustrious career with the Catalan giants and the Spanish national team.

While he’s doing a lot of ambassadorial work for Qatar’s 2022 World Cup campaign, Xavi is still doing the business on the pitch.

And it was in last night’s win that Xavi produced an assist that we’ve been so used to seeing him provide for Lionel Messi throughout his career:

Even at 38, Xavi still knows how to pick out a decisive, defence-splitting pass.

He signed a three-year contract at Al Sadd, but announced earlier this season that he’d quit at the end of the current campaign before focusing on his coaching career.

We can only hope we get a few more assists between now and then.
