Zenit goalscorer Aleksandr Kokorin has donated a signed strip to a fundraiser for Fernando Ricksen.
The Russian attacker scored his side’s third goal in the 3-0 win over Celtic in the Europa League last night, helping them seal a 3-1 aggregate victory and qualification for the last-16 of the competition.
BT Sport had their team over in Saint Petersburg covering the match, with David Tanner leading their coverage inside and outside the stadium.
And Tanner has now told how Kokorin was kind enough to donate his shirt to the event for former Rangers star Ricksen – who also had a three-year spell in Russia with Zenit.
Ricksen is battling ALS and tomorrow’s event at Ibrox should help him massively with that.
So Kokorin’s gesture is a classy one that shouldn’t go unnoticed by anyone in Scottish football:
Ricksen will be in attendance at the event alongside other guests and tickets are still available. You can get details on it here.
