Zenit Threaten to Roast Celtic Like the Daily Mail Over Use of Wrong Club Crest

Zenit Saint Petersburg have started the pre-match mind games with Celtic on Twitter – after the Scottish champions used the Russian club’s old crest in their match-day programme.

The two sides meet in the Europa League last-32 first-leg on Thursday night under the floodlights at Celtic Park, with Roberto Mancini’s side looking to finally make a dent on one of European football’s big tournaments.

Earlier today, we told you how the Hoops had released early images of a classic Russian-style programme for the eagerly-anticipated fixture, but someone failed to spot one small error.

The Hoops have used the old Zenit crest in their mock-ups – rather than the club’s sleek, new design.

Back in 2016, Zenit ended up in a Twitter spat with the Daily Mail, after the newspaper claimed their badge was one of the ugliest in Europe – and now Zenit are threatening to get into the same sort of argument with Celtic if they don’t respect the new design:

Of course, it all seems pretty light-hearted – maybe Zenit could be Celtic’s newest pal on Twitter, after last season’s bromance with Borussia Mönchengladbach.
