The on-loan Chelsea winger joined the Hoops amidst great fanfare during the January transfer window but has struggled to break into Brendan Rodgers’ starting XI, and was on the bench once again for today’s trip to Fir Park.
With the Hoops labouring to break down an opposition who’d been reduced to 10-men, you’d have thought a creative playmaker like Musonda would’ve been one of the first picks, right?
Well, Rodgers opted to bring on Patrick Roberts, Stuart Armstrong and Scott Sinclair in the second-half, leaving Musonda kicking his heels once again.
With Sinclair struggling for form, Musonda’s absence really does come across as quite perplexing to a lot of supporters watching at home:
Why are we spending £3 million on a musonda loan but never play him ?

— Marty (@MartyMcG88) March 18, 2018
Huns 2x (Same game 30th Dec)
How many chances Sinclair gonna waste?
What was the point in signing Musonda on loan when he’s not gonna get a game?

Jees Musonda must be poor if he cannot get into that team.
— Maxibhoy (@maxibhoy) March 18, 2018
Young musonda must wonder what the fuck he's got into..Canny get into that team???!!..He must be garbage 🤯💩 #celtic

How the fuck does Musonda sit on the bench with McGregor playing 90 minutes and Armstrong and Sinclair (both shite) getting on ahead of him. Frustrating as fuck that game.
— Uncle Nobby (@CelticSteamboat) March 18, 2018
That was piss. Musonda>Sinclair Need griffiths back
— Robs.🍀 (@Robbie_McQ) March 18, 2018
Why did Rodgers sign Musonda btw
— Chris Gunn (@Gunnie67) March 18, 2018
From what we've seen so far in Musonda this season vs what we've seen Sinclair this season, how can Sinclair possibly be first choice sub? Total bottle job man. Absolutely pish result.
— Ciaran C McBrearty (@CiaranMcB7) March 18, 2018
Where's Musonda? Pointless bringing him here if he's gonna sit on the bench
Far too many of these heartless performances lately from Celtic
— Bhoy (@MistaTipsta) March 18, 2018
Musonda looking like a monumental waste of money for Celtic. Clear Rodgers currently doesn’t think he is better than what he had previously.
— Tam McManus (@The_Tman10) March 18, 2018
Why did we pay money to loan a guy the manager doesn't play?#musonda
— Tambo Unchained (@ThomasTambo) March 18, 2018
Over the course of his 18-month loan deal from Stamford Bridge, Musonda will end up costing Celtic probably in the region on several million pounds, so are fans right to be asking questions?
What do you think?
