Gary Neville Has Come Out in Support of Jamie Carragher

Gary Neville has come out in support of his Sky Sports colleague Jamie Carragher, after the former Liverpool defender was filmed spitting at a heckling fan.

Various national newspapers have ran with the story today which features a video of Carragher aiming his spit at a goading Manchester United, and the man’s daughter then complaining it had hit her on the face.

Carragher was due to be a pundit on Sky’s Monday Night Football show tonight, alongside guest Brendan Rodgers, but Sky’s hierarchy have since decided to suspend the ex-England international, and his career with the corporation looks to be hanging by a thread.

They might have been sworn enemies during their playing career but Carragher and Neville are now two of football’s best-love double acts, and the latter has come out in support of his fellow analysts:

It remains to be seen if Carragher will keep his job, but what do you think of the incident?

Should he be given a second chance?
