How Will Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s Time as a Manchester United Player Be Remembered?

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic expected to sign for MLS side LA Galaxy this week and bring his eventful Manchester United career to a close… it’s fair to say he has made his mark on English football.

Signed from Ligue 1 champions PSG on a free transfer in 2016, Ibrahimovic played a crucial role in restoring United’s reputation as a place where world class footballers desperately wanted to play.

And while the Sweden international only spent two seasons at Old Trafford, with a serious knee injury unfortunately hampering his progress and hastening his exit, there’s no doubting that he made a big impact.

So how will Zlatan’s time in a United shirt be remembered? Lets take a look:

1. His Goals

Ibrahimovic scored 29 goals as a Manchester United player, 28 of which came last season as the 36-year-old outperformed all expectations.

His goal-tally was a shining light in a domestically poor season for United, as Mourinho lead them to a 6th place finish in the Premier League.

Harry Kane, Sergio Aguero and Alexis Sanchez may have been amongst the players to score more than him in the league but for a player of his age, he did extraordinarily well.
