Mark McGhee on Co-Commentary For Celtic v Morton Gets a Funny Response

Mark McGhee on Co-Commentary For Celtic v Morton Gets a Funny Response

Mark McGhee on Sky Sports’ co-commentary for Celtic against Morton in the Scottish Cup got an unsurprising response.

The former Motherwell manager was introduced as a surprise co-commentator by Hayley McQueen just before the teams walked out at Celtic Park for today’s early game.

Ian Crocker was in his usual place as the play-by-play commentator, but McGhee, you’d expect, is there to add some colour to the game.

Well, it’s not quite turned out that way, with many bored by McGhee’s appearance.

Then again, should we have expected anything other than this response from supporters on McGhee’s commentary debut with Sky Sports? Probably not:

We’ve just scratched the surface with that reaction – it’s fair to say there are a lot more who aren’t enjoying McGhee on their TV.

The game hasn’t helped much either, with Celtic and Morton level at 0-0 at half-time.

Hopefully there are more goals and a bit more excitement from McGhee in the second half.
