She may know very little about the Scottish Premiership, but Maya Jama is now a hero to many Rangers supporters tonight after posting an innocent tweet.
The television and radio presenter – and girlfriend to superstar rapper Stormzy – decided to pay tribute to her thousands of online followers by taking to Twitter yesterday and praising all of her ‘Huns worldwide’.

Nothing wrong with that, right?
Well, the wording might seem innocent to most of the British public, but the word ‘hun’ has a very different meaning to a lot of people in the west of Scotland – particularly Rangers fans.
Gers supporters started replying in their droves, probably leaving Maya a tad confused, but there’s absolutely no question that some of the comebacks were absolutely priceless:

As she later retweeted herself, the original tweet garnered such a strong response that Maya Jama was even trending in Glasgow for a period of Monday morning and afternoon.
Scottish football might need some work on the pitch, but off it there’s no doubting we’re world class.
