McLeish revealed his 27-man squad earlier this afternoon, with the former Rangers gaffer gearing up to begin his second stint as national team boss by playing friendlies against Costa Rica and Hungary later this month.

The squad definitely has a fresh look about it, with a total of nine uncapped players called-up by Big Eck, and six who’ve never even been in a squad before.
But there was still some notable absentees, with Aberdeen’s Graeme Shinnie, Hearts’ John Souttar and West Brom’s Ollie Burke all tipped to be included, but ultimately missing out.
Hanlon was one name not particularly at the forefront of the discussion around the Scotland squad in recent weeks, but Hibees fans everywhere were more than a little peeved that his efforts this season haven’t been recognised:
How Paul Hanlon has not been called up to Scotland squad is a joke best defender in Scotland & that fud @mashyhfc look alike Hanley is in 😡

How is Paul Hanlon not in that Scotland squad? McLeish out etc etc…
What does Paul Hanlon got to do to get in the scotland squad for fuck sake man consistent every week, real leader from the back and surely a first cap is well over due which he hands down deserves….. #HanlonForScotland

If Paul Hanlon signed for the Huns (god forbid) he would be straight in the Scotland team. Its a disgrace he's been overlooked for so long.

On the one hand, no enough Paul Hanlon. On the other, Alex McLeish is a wank who would only waste Paul Hanlon's time. https://t.co/byMa2KtmMn

Good looking squad assembled.
Slightly surprised by the omission of Paul Hanlon. Captained our 21’s and has improved year on year!

Justice served and Dylan McGeouch is called up to Scotland team with John McGinn. How on earth Paul Hanlon isn’t in there, I’ll never know! 🏴

The 28-year-old has been a key cog in Neil Lennon’s impressive Hibs side this season, but does he deserve to be given a chance at international level?
What do you think?
