Eight-time Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt trained with Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund on Friday… and thanks to the guys over at Puma, we can now go behind the scenes to see how he got on.
Bolt has always harboured a dream of switching his running spikes for a pair of football boots, with the Jamaican making no secret of his allegiance toward Manchester United.
And he took one massive leap toward making that dream a reality this week, as he took part in a training session with BVB stars Marco Reus, Christian Pulisic and Michy Batshuayi.
Puma, who sponsor both Bolt and Dortmund, have since responded with this special hype video, which offers a unique insight into Bolt’s dream of playing professionally:
Dortmund boss Peter Stöger has distanced himself from speculation that the club will offer the retired runner a contract though, as he claimed the 31-year-old has “a lot of work to do” to become a top-level footballer.
Bolt isn’t letting that derail him though, as the Bundesliga’s official website confirmed that he is willing to keep training with Dortmund despite Stöger’s comments in the hope of securing a longer-term deal.
Can Bolt make it as a footballer? Or is this simply a pipe-dream made possible through Bolt’s high-profile connections?
