Celtic legend Billy McNeill celebrates his 78th birthday today and the club have wished their former skipper many happy returns with a fantastic tribute on Twitter.
McNeill is widely considered the greatest player to ever pull on the green and white jersey, having captained the Lisbon Lions to their historic European Cup triumph over Inter Milan in 1967.
The defender, who made well over 700 appearances for Celtic, went on to manage the club over two separate spells before eventually retiring from the game in 1998.
And it’s brilliant to see that his old side have given him a worthy tribute on social media this morning, with a video showcasing some of McNeill’s finest achievements at Celtic Park:

Along with being the first British footballer to win the European Cup, McNeill also collected nine league titles, seven Scottish Cups, six League Cups and 29 international caps.
An amazing tribute for one of the biggest icons in Scottish football!
