Nobody gave Arsenal much of a chance ahead of tonight’s match at the San Siro… but Henrikh Mkhitaryan has fired the Gunners into an early lead.
AC Milan hadn’t conceded a goal in over 500 minutes prior to kick-off, with Gennaro Gattuso having turned their stuttering season around after an awful start in Serie A.
Meanwhile, Arsenal went into tonight’s Europa League showdown having lost their previous four matches in all competitions, with pressure mounting on under-fire boss Arsene Wenger.
However, it appears ex-Manchester United winger Mkhitaryan has alleviated some of that pressure, after the Armenian found the back of Gianluigi Donnarumma’s net… albeit from a deflection:

To make the scoreline all the more impressive, Arsenal have one just once in their previous eight away matches, that win coming in their 3-0 demolition of Ostersunds in the last round of the Europa League.
Can Arsenal hold on and take a valuable lead into next week’s second-leg at the Emirates?
Or will the Gunners crumble in the latter stages… as they have so often this season?
