Mark Noble tackling a pitch invader is such a Mark Noble thing to do.
The West Ham captain wasn’t happy after Burnley opened the scoring at the London Stadium through Ashley Barnes earlier.
But he looked furious when a pitch invader ran past him straight afterwards, tackling the fan to the ground before pushing him away and gesturing to get off the park.
Noble is a no-nonsense midfielder, born and bred as a West Ham man, so should we really be surprised that he took getting the pitch invader off into his own hands?
It’d be interesting to see if anything happened just before the camera cut to Noble pushing the fan on the ground. You’d hope that the supporter didn’t gesture towards Noble or any other players.
West Ham are now 3-0 down to Burnley at home after further goals from Chris Wood so it won’t be a nice atmosphere in and around the ground right now.
And the result, matched with a victory for Newcastle and a draw for Huddersfield, means West Ham are pulled closer to the relegation zone.
