Video: Watch as Gareth Bale Equals Ian Rush’s Goal-Scoring Record for Wales

Gareth Bale has drawn level with Ian Rush as Wales’ top-scorer, with the Real Madrid star hitting an emphatic brace  during today’s friendly against China.

Bale opened the scoring for his country inside two minutes, with the Welshman seemingly shrugging off the injury concerns which have plagued him throughout his fifth season in Spain.

And it didn’t take Bale very long to bag his second, as he struck his 28th goal for Wales, which sees him draw level with legendary Liverpool front-man, Ian Rush:

 

Bale has been in and out of the Madrid squad this season, with Zinedine Zidane reportedly losing patience with the injury-riddled 28-year-old.

However, while Marcos Asensio and Lucas Vasquez may be benefiting from Bale’s injury woes, it looks like he’s having no such problems in the international arena.

And there’s still plenty of time for Bale to bag another goal and surpass Rush to become his country’s all-time leading scorer.

It’s currently 4-0 at half-time, during Ryan Gigg’s first match as Wales boss.
