Xabi Alonso scored a trademark free-kick as he played for both sides during this afternoon’s legends match between Liverpool and Bayern Munich.
The Spaniard is still a fan-favourite at Anfield, despite his decision to leave the Premier League giants for Real Madrid in 2009.
And while Alonso failed to get on the score-sheet during his first-half in a Liverpool shirt, he made no mistake in the second 45 as he scored an impressive free-kick for Bayern.
The retired 36-year-old even earned a brief round of applause from the Liverpool end for this effort… definitely still got it:

Alonso made well over 100 appearances during his five-year spell on Merseyside, having played an instrumental role in the club’s Champions League triumph back in 2006.
He called time on his glittering career in 2017 after a three-year stint with Bayern, however, he’s recently been embroiled in alleged tax fraud, with authorities reportedly keen for Alonso to serve jail-time.
