Wales Fans Lavish Praise on Rangers’ Declan John Following China Cup Displays

Wales supporters have a potential new fans’ favourite tonight after Rangers full-back Declan John put in several tidy performances in the China Cup.

The 22-year-old arrived a season-long loan deal at Ibrox from Cardiff City last August, and has spent most of the campaign as the club’s first-choice left-back after Lee Wallace’s constant struggles with injuries.

John’s form has been so impressive that it’s caught the eye of new Wales manager Ryan Giggs, who handed John a starting berth in last week’s 6-0 win over China, and today’s 1-0 defeat against Uruguay.

The reverse against the South Americans means Giggs and his new charges won’t be coming home with the silverware, but it could go down as the competition in which Declan John emerged as a serious international footballer:

John signed permanently for the Ibrox club back in January on a three-and-a-half deal, and is he now first-choice left-back ahead of Lee Wallace?
