Why Andy Robertson’s Rise to the Top is So Good

Andy Robertson produced another superb performance for Liverpool in their 3-0 win over Manchester City tonight.

In what must have been the biggest game of his career yet, the Scottish left back coped superbly with the challenge of playing against England’s top team in a crunch Champions League quarter final first leg.

He was confident with the task of attacking in a first half that the Reds dominated and produced a solid second half performance when faced with the pace of Raheem Sterling off the bench.

And it’s just another fine display in what’s becoming an outstanding debut season for Robertson at Anfield.

SFA media and communications man Kenny Millar – who knows Robertson well from his involvement with Scotland – looked on admirably as the full-back strutted his stuff this evening.

His tweets show just how amazing it is that Robertson is performing at such a high level in Jurgen Klopp’s side:

Robertson sounds like a great guy as well as a great player – and that makes his success for club and country even better.
