We all remember how David Moyes got on when he replaced Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United – it was an absolute nightmare for the ex-Toffees boss.

Rodgers would be walking into an eerily similar situation if he decided to jump ship and take the Arsenal job.

It would represent a massive gamble for the Irishman though, especially after his work at Celtic has restored his reputation following a turbulent spell at Liverpool.

At just 45-years-old, Rodgers has plenty of time on his side if he does decide to leave Scotland… and he should use that to his advantage when it comes to picking his next job.

It’s difficult to imagine Rodgers wanting to leave a stable environment at Celtic for what looks like a massive rebuild at the Emirates.

Strangers things have happened, but would you swap a sure thing for a gamble?
