Chelsea Fans Are Butchering Alvaro Morata For His Performance Against Burnley

Alvaro Morata is being absolutely hammered by Chelsea fans this evening after his underwhelming performance against Burnley at Turf Moor.

The Spanish international cost a massive £60 million to buy from Real Madrid last summer, but has so far failed to hit the heights everybody expected of him.

He’s spent more time on the subs bench than he probably imagined he would but he was handed a start in his favourite role of central striker in tonight’s game with Sean Dyche’s high-flying side.

But Morata didn’t look at his best throughout, and not only did he fail to find the net, he managed to miss several excellent chances – including a gilt-edged one-on-one with Nick Pope.

With the Blues looking to keep alive their faint hopes of still finishing in the Premier League’s top-four this season, every point counts, and Morata’s display hasn’t gone down well, to say the least:

Morata was visibly angry on the touchline when Antonio Conte hauled him off on 70 minutes, and with the FA Cup semi-final against Southampton looming on Sunday, it looks unlikely that he’ll be trusted for such a big game.

Should Chelsea cut their losses and sell Morata this summer?
