Craig Levein’s ‘Turgid’ Defensive Tactics is Being Slaughtered by Hearts Fans

Hearts manager Craig Levein is being slaughtered by the club’s supporters tonight for his side’s negative showing away at Aberdeen.

The former Scotland manager has steadied the ship at Tynecastle since replacing Ian Cathro as manager back in August, but some of his side’s football is often criticised for being far too defensive, particularly away from home.

And tonight’s Premiership match away at Pittodrie was no different, with Levein lining-up with a 3-5-2 which often looked more like a 5-3-2, and it wasn’t long before the Dons quickly picked them apart.

In fact, Aberdeen had roared into a 2-0 lead by half-time, and judging by the reaction to the display on social media, there’s plenty of Jambos out there who are sick and tired of watching the same brand of football:

Of course, nobody expects Hearts to be like Real Madrid, but should their supporters be expecting a bit more than they’re currently getting?
