Danny Ings has shared his delight on social media after scoring his first Liverpool goal since 2015.
The English attacker was given a starting spot by Jurgen Klopp for the trip to West Brom in the early English Premier League game today.
The Reds made a number of changes for the game, obviously intent on keeping some key players fresh for the first leg of their Champions League semi-final with Roma on Tuesday.
And with that opportunity for some game time after what’s been a torrid couple of years out with injuries, Ings took his chance to impress by bagging a goal.
Unfortunately for Liverpool, they failed to win after going 2-0 up, but Ings’ goal is a bonus going into a very important run-in.
He was delighted when he took to Instagram after the match:
Ings will now be hoping he can get more games between now and the end of the season – and maybe even play a part in some very important Champions League matches too.
