The former West Ham and England boss arrived at Goodison Park earlier this season, following the sacking of Ronald Koeman, and his remit was to steer the Toffees away from a potential relegation dogfight.
At the moment, Everton are ninth in the Premier League table with 42 points, and have essentially secured their top-flight status for another season, but the supporters have been far from happy with some of the football played under Allardyce.
During the 1-1 draw away at Swansea on Saturday, the travelling Everton fans could be audibly heard chanting ‘fuck off Sam Allardyce’ and today’s news only serves to make his position more unstable.
According to the Guardian, the Everton hierarchy have sent a survey to season-ticket holders and club members asking them to rate Big Sam’s ability to “get the best out of the team” on a scale of zero to 10.
Having forked out more than £140 million last summer, it’s probably fair to say that Everton fans might have deserved a bit better this season, but is this really fair on Allardyce?
And, by the looks of things, he’ll surely be off this summer, right?
