Ex-Rangers Midfielder Carlos Pena Sacked By Mexican Side Cruz Azul

Former Rangers midfielder Carlos Pena has been sensationally sacked by Mexican side Cruz Azul after he was accused of urinating in a hotel fountain.

Ex-Gers manager Pedro Caixinha reportedly paid around £2 million for the Mexico international in the summer of 2017, but the pair both ended up at Azul following Caixinha’s sacking last October.

As we’ve told you previously, Pena’s time at his new club hasn’t gone swimmingly, with his own fans booing him after a string of poor performances, and now it seems he’ll be forced to look for a new team altogether.

According to the Daily Record, the Cruz Azul hierarchy have decided to terminate Pena’s contract after he was allegedly intoxicated in his own team’s Royal Pedregal Hotel, before being caught by hotel management urinating into a fountain in the hotel grounds.

At the age of 28, Pena still has plenty of football left in him, but it’s difficult to see where his career goes now.

Where do you think he’ll end up?
