Liverpool Fans Seem to Think Steven Gerrard is About to Become Klopp’s Assistant

Liverpool supporters are convinced club legend Steven Gerrard is about to be promoted to the first-team assistant manager, following the departure of Željko Buvač.

The Reds announced earlier today that Buvač was taking a break from his duties until at least the end of the season, with the Bosnian coach dealing with family issues in his personal life.

He and Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp have enjoyed a 17-year partnership together, and won the German Bundesliga title together at Borussia Dortmund.

It remains to be seen if Buvač will return in the long-term but Klopp will need another assistant in the meantime, and plenty of supporters seem to think Gerrard is the man to fill the void – despite his strong links to the Rangers job:

Could this be what is holding up Gerrard’s talks with Rangers? Do you think the ex-England captain would perhaps rather stay in a promoted position at Anfield?
