Liverpool Fans Singing the Praises of Trent Alexander-Arnold After Brilliant City Display

Liverpool Fans Singing the Praises of Trent Alexander-Arnold After Brilliant City Display

Liverpool are celebrating a massive win over Manchester City this evening, and the club’s supporters are lavishing praise on right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The 19-year-old full-back was probably earmarked as one of Liverpool’s weak spots by Pep Guardiola before kick-off, but his inexperience definitely didn’t show and he kept Leroy Sane tucked away in his back pocket.

In the end, the Reds went on to win 3-0 in the Champions League quarter-final first-leg at Anfield, and look to have one foot in the competition’s last-four – but this match will have a lot more significance for Alexander-Arnold.

His lung-bursting runs from deep – combined with his relentless marking job on Sane – definitely signalled tonight as a breakout performance for the youngster – and it wasn’t missed by the club’s supporters on social media:

What did you think of his display, and how he coped with the extreme pressure?

Could he be a late contender for an England World Cup spot?

What do you think?
