The Red Devils travelled across Manchester for the latest instalment of the city’s derby match, and Smalling and all of his team-mates would’ve known City could clinch the Premier League title by winning today’s match.
CAPTAIN FANTASTIC! "Vincent Kompany scored a famous goal at the Etihad to beat.."
Is history repeating itself? #MCFC move a step closer to the title! 🏆

Despite starting in quite a solid style, it wasn’t long before United were quickly undone by their hungry opponents – and Smalling was very much at the scene of the crime.
In eerily similar scenes to a match back in April 2012, Smalling failed to properly challenge Vincent Kompany at a corner-kick, allowing the big Belgian to smash home a header unopposed – and some United fans have well and truly seen enough of the England international:
Fuck sake. Smalling getting absolutely bullied by Kompany. How he plays for us is beyond me.

Christopher Fucking Smalling. Get the fuck out. Valencia you're equally as shit.

The fact Mourinho has taken a team with Chris Smalling to second is the real success story this season…

Had to be him, didn't it. Smalling – just like in 2012 – fails to deal with him at a corner.

City made it 2-0 not too long after Kompany’s header, with İlkay Gündoğan getting in on the action, and Smalling wasn’t exactly brilliant for that goal either.
He’s been criticised by his own fans before, but is this the straw which broke the camel’s back for Chris Smalling?
What do you think?
