Morgan has been Wenger’s biggest critic in recent years, with the Good Morning Britain host regularly taking to his Twitter account to abuse the Arsenal manager after poor results.
However, with Wenger confirming this afternoon that he will leave the club at the end of the season, Morgan has jumped on the bandwagon in praising the 68-year-old.
Speaking with TalkSPORT, Morgan admitted he would have liked Wenger to have left the Premier League giants sooner but will still be signing the manager’s name on Sunday when Arsenal host West Ham.
“I’m not gloating about it today – I just wish he’d done it years ago.
“It’s a good day for Arsenal, but it’s also a sad day for Arsenal. I’ll be signing ‘one Arsene Wenger on Sunday – je’s done the right thing.”
Morgan surprisingly added, “I would be very happy to call the Emirates Stadium the ‘Arsene Wenger Stadium’.
“That would be a great way to honour the memory of a man who has been one of the great managers in Premier League history.”
That’s some turnaround for a man who regularly bashed Wenger and lead many charges for him to be sacked on social media!
