Scott Brown Says He’d Have Got a 5 or 6-Game Ban For Tackling Like Andrew Davies

Scott Brown says he’d have got a five or six-game ban had he tackled someone like Andrew Davies did to him.

The Celtic midfielder spoke to the media today ahead of his side’s Scottish Premiership clash with Hamilton on Sunday.

It made for an interesting presser considering the discussion around Brown in the aftermath of Ross County defender Davies’ shocking challenge on him last weekend.

Davies received a straight red card for it and there have been calls for an extended suspension for the Staggies captain – with Brendan Rodgers particularly critical of the challenge.

And now Brown has suggested that Davies gets a longer ban – as he would be on the receiving end of five or six games suspended if it was him dishing out a tackle like that.

Speaking today, Brown, per Celtic’s official Twitter account, said:

Would Brown have got different treatment had it been him tackling someone like that? There’s no doubt more attention would have been on the Celtic captain, but we’re not sure he would have received a longer ban.
