Ally McCoist sat down with Open Goal‘s Si Ferry this week and lifted the lid on Craig Whyte’s reaction when Rangers went into administration in 2012… and it won’t sit well with the club’s supporters.

The Light Blues were plunged into financial chaos on Valentine’s Day six years ago, with the club sent to the lowest tier of Scottish football and several big-name players leaving as a result.

And while looking back on the months proceeding the club’s financial meltdown will be a painful experience for any Gers fan, Whyte’s reaction to the situation will probably evoke pure anger from the Ibrox faithful.

Whyte was of course blamed for the entire situation, after he purchased the club from Sir David Murray just 11 months previously.

So, when Ferry sat down with ex-Rangers manager McCoist, one of the first things he asked the club’s record goal-scorer was when he realised Whyte wasn’t the real deal:

At least McCoist kept his sense of humour!

Although we can’t imagine too many supporters will find the funny side of Whyte’s bizarre reaction.
