Chris Sutton has claimed it’ll be nothing short of a sham if Celtic captain Scott Brown doesn’t win the PFA Player of the Year in Scotland this season – with Ally McCoist in total disagreement.

Brown has been nominated for the award after putting himself at the heart of an outstanding campaign for the Hoops, which has seen Brendan Rodgers’ side come tantalisingly close to securing back-to-back domestic trebles.

Brown is the hot favourite to take home the silverware but other nominees include Kilmarnock striker Kris Boyd; Celtic winger James Forrest; and Hibs midfield maestro John McGinn.

But despite the undeniable talents of that trio, Sutton is demanding for Brown to be crowned the best player in Scottish football – but it appears McCoist and Steven Craigan still need a touch of convincing:

Of course, there’s no denying Boyd’s enjoyed a brilliant season, with 20 goals to his name, but should he beat Brown to the prize?

What do you think?
