Aaron Ramsey is rightly getting a lot of plaudits for his brilliant volley goal against CSKA Moscow last night.
But he wasn’t first to do it last night – as Italy women’s under 19 player Agnese Bofantini actually scored the exact same goal against Scotland hours before.
It was an under 19s elite round qualifier at Edinburgh’s Oriam and we were particularly interested in how the next generation of Scottish female players would cope.
They got off to the perfect start by scoring through Samantha Kerr after 13 seconds.
But Italy’s quality told by the full-time whistle, with the Azzurri fighting back to win 4-1.
Included in their comeback victory was a ridiculous goal from Bofantini, who actually netted twice in the game.
Hours before Ramsey’s goal was shared hundreds of thousands of times across social media, it was Bofantini showing the way:
