Video: Jack Wilshere Admits Disappointment at Not Delivering for Arsene Wenger

Jack Wilshere has been speaking about Arsene Wenger‘s departure tonight, admitting that he’s disappointed Arsenal haven’t been able to deliver the season their manager wanted.

Wenger announced earlier today that he will leave the Emirates at the end of the current campaign, after nearly 22 years at the helm.

And while both Arsenal fans some of their former players have taken to social media today to pay tribute to Wenger’s legacy, Wilshere has appeared on the club’s YouTube channel in the last few hours, speaking about the Frenchman.

Wilshere, who’s own future at Arsenal remains unclear, admits that he was shocked and saddened by Wenger’s decision to leave.

However, the one emotion that trumps the rest for the England international, appears to be disappointment that he and his team-mates were unable to win more silverware in what has proved to be Wenger’s final season:

As Wilshere quite rightly mentioned, the Gunners do have one final opportunity to allow their manager to leave on a high, with their Europa League semi-final with Atletico Madrid still on the horizon.

It would surely be the perfect send off for Wenger if he left the club having just one his first piece of European silverware.
