Jamie Carragher had a funny dig at Alexi Lalas last night while appearing on American television.
The Liverpool legend may be suspended by Sky Sports until the end of the season due to that spitting incident, but he’s allowed to appear elsewhere so made sure to get involved in Liverpool’s huge Champions League semi-final first leg clash against Roma at Anfield last night.
He was pitch-side speaking to Fox Sports 1 about the game when it was put to him that Lalas – a former USA international who was part of the night’s punditry team – said Liverpool should simply be happy to be in this stage of the competition.
Carragher’s response was brilliant:

Lalas didn’t look happy.
Carragher is right mind you. Liverpool fans certainly won’t have been feeling that way before the game and they have every right to be confident after demolishing Roma 5-2 on the night to put one foot in next month’s final.
Mohamed Salah was the inspiration on the night, scoring two and setting up another two against his former club.
But Jurgen Klopp’s men conceding two late goals means the tie isn’t over and Roma could fancy themselves to mount a similar comeback to the one that saw them overturn a 4-1 first leg defeat to Barcelona in the previous round.
