Video: Josh Windass Wasn’t Impressed With Atletico Madrid’s “Clever” Defending

Josh Windass took to Twitter last night to criticise Atletico Madrid’s “clever” defending in their Europa League semi-final with Arsenal.

The La Liga giants, who were down to 10 men for much of the game, came back from a goal down with Antoine Griezmann netting a crucial equaliser following a comical error from Laurent Koscielny.

And while pundits and fans alike have been quick to praise Diego Simeone’s side for playing to their strengths in not giving Arsenal a sniff at goal, Rangers front man Windass had a bone to pick on social media.

After seeing Atleti defender Diego Godin fall to the floor under a nothing challenge from an Arsenal player, Windass made a valid point via his Twitter account.

The former Accrington Stanley star questioned why Godin going down was described as “clever”, meanwhile if an attacker does the same thing he’s called a “disgrace”:

Do you agree with Windass?

The 24-year-old was watching last night’s game ahead of what could be a huge weekend in Rangers’ season, as they travel to Celtic Park in a bid to stop the impeding title party.
