With Arsene Wenger set to leave Arsenal at the end of the season, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has issued a classy tribute to the Frenchman.
Klopp was still a player when Wenger arrived at Highbury in 1996 and has clearly enjoyed his battles with the Arsenal manager since joining to the Premier League.
Wenger has of course been under intense scrutiny this season, with the Gunners struggling to keep pace with the teams fighting it out for a top four finish in the Premier League.
Their season now rests on the hope that they can win the Europa League to secure Champions League football next term, but in the meantime, managers from around the league are giving their reaction to Wenger’s impending departure.
And Klopp was first out the blocks, admitting to the Liverpool Echo that he was surprised by the news but also always admired Wenger’s work:

It’s hard to imagine Klopp will be the only manager asked about Wenger’s decision to leave Arsenal this afternoon… but it’s equally difficult to think anyone will give the 68-year-old such a glowing tribute as the German has here.
What is your reaction to the news that Wenger will step down at the end of the season?
