Liverpool fans gave Raheem Sterling a very frosty reception on his return to Anfield last night, as they welcomed the Manchester City winger to the pitch by calling him a “greedy bastard”.

Jurgen Klopp’s side dismantled Premier League leaders City with a resounding 3-0 win in their Champions League quarter-final first leg, with goals from Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

And while a minority of Liverpool supporters have been slammed this morning for an alleged attack on the City team bus before kick-off, these fans in the Kopp took to more traditional means of intimidating their opposition.

City’s trip to Merseyside saw former-Liverpool star Sterling make yet another return to his old stomping ground, although he started the match on the bench.

However, the Liverpool fans didn’t allow that to get in the way, as they delivered a very clear message when Pep Guardiola sent the England international on.

And the guys from Redmen TV were on hand with another brilliant insight into a Champions League match-day:

Sterling left joined City in 2015 after a public contract dispute with the Liverpool hierarchy.

Regardlass of the abuse he got from the Anfield faithful, we imagine it wasn’t the nicest of trips back to Manchester for Sterling, as his hopes of reaching the Champions League semi-finals look doomed after the first-leg.
