Video: Mario Mandžukić now Proud Owner of An Amazing Stat After Goals v Real Madrid

Juventus striker Mario Mandžukić rocked Real Madrid in the Champions League tonight – and is now the proud owner of an incredible stat.

The Croatian striker spearheaded the Serie A side’s attack in the Bernabeu, as he and his team-mates looked to try and somehow overturn last week’s 3-0 home defeat at the hands of Cristiano Ronaldo and co.

Few people in the football world would’ve given Juventus a fighting chance of reaching the semi-finals, but Mandžukić put the cat amongst the pigeons after less than two minutes, when he stooped to head past a helpless Keylor Navas.

Real Madrid were without captain and regular defensive linchpin Sergio Ramos, and his absence was felt even more when Mandžukić made it 2-0 before the half-time break.

Remarkably, Mandžukić’s double means he is now the only visiting player in the history of the Champions League to score two first-half goals at the Santiago Bernabeu.

No other player – we repeat – no other player in the illustrious history of European football has managed a first-half brace away to Los Blancos, until tonight at least, and that’s Mandžukić’s fourth goal in his entire career against Real.
