Pep Guardiola gave an emotion-filled speech at Manchester City’s training ground after the club were crowned Premier League champions last week.
Despite stumbling to a 3-2 defeat to Manchester United when they could have won the title at the beginning of the month against their local rivals, City were made mathematically uncatchable on Sunday evening.
City of course picked up a 3-1 victory over Spurs on Saturday afternoon, meaning they could win the title without being on the field if United dropped points to West Brom, with the Baggies securing a 1-0 upset.
That result meant the City staff were at home when the club was crowned champions, so Guardiola chose to address the club’s third Premier League win when they reconvened at the training ground.
And while you would expect Guardiola to deliver a passionate speech to his players, who have been extraordinary this season, the Spaniard also reached out to the staff who have worked behind the scenes.
The City boss even gave a shout out to those who have worked in the club’s laundry department, before adding that this season will stay in his heart forever:
Despite his title triumph, Guardiola will have to wait until May 6 when City play Huddersfield to get his hands on the trophy.
